Executive Director / Facility Director
As a modern-day abolitionist, Heidi’s focus is to heighten awareness and advocate for survivors of human trafficking.
She began volunteering for the organization in 2015 and has served as a Human Trafficking Awareness trainer for anti-trafficking organizations since 2017; presenting in schools, health care organizations, hospitals, law enforcement and community events in Wayne, Macomb, Oakland, St Clair and Lapeer counties. In September 2018, she became the executive director of what was then known as The Alabaster Gift and has remained in that position through a transition to expand our organization's reach in serving survivors of all gender identities- of human trafficking through True North To Freedom in 2021..
Heidi worked as a C.T. Technologist in Radiology for 30 years, and retired in 2017. She is also an artist, with her own decorative painting business since 1999. Art is part of her own healing journey and sharing expressive art with survivors is a blessing! She has multiple certificates and trainings in trauma informed care. She believes in serving survivors in a non-judge mental and grace filled environment.

Jeanne W.
Board President
Jeanne retired from working for her home church after more than seven and a half years, Jeanne continues to serve others through various volunteer positions, and as a Board member of TNTF. In the past she has been associated with several ministries including a medical missions trip with Hope International Ministries, The Metro Family Center community outreach in Mt Clemens, MI and currently, the ongoing development and growth of True North To Freedom as an organization that can help change the lives of survivors of human trafficking . A 1989 graduate of Christ Gospel Ministerial School, she is an independent Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Coming alongside of others to help them realize their God-given potential, is her life goal. This can be achieved by mentoring relationships, and walking alongside others as they move forward in life, helping them make choices that help them grow and move safely into their future, is the pathway to reaching that goal.
Her personal motto is: “With Jesus, if there is breath, there is hope.”

Rebecca is passionate about pursuing a life that is aligned with God’s will for her unique purpose and identity, and advocating for others to do the same.
Her dedication to True North To Freedom is driven by the injustice of exploitation in any form, but specifically for the people created in the image of God, who are designed wonderfully and uniquely and meant to live freely.
Her educational background is in engineering and business.

Claudia R.
Board Secretary
Claudia grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry from Boston University in 1982. She worked in OEM coatings for DuPont; now known as Axalta Coating Systems, until retiring in 2021.
Claudia currently volunteers running the sound board during services and as chairman of the Missions Committee at her home church. She most enjoys supporting the outreach program in Romeo called His Table, which provides a prepared hot dinner once weekly, with the goal of meeting people’s hunger for both nourishment and companionship.
Claudia is the founder of the Leonard C. Royal Memorial Scholarship Fund, which is currently managed by, In Faith Community Foundation. This fund was established following the death of her son in a motorcycle accident. Since her son was a diesel mechanic who loved working with his hands; the Scholarship Fund awards educational scholarships to Romeo High School seniors who are continuing with their education in either Trade School or Community College Programs.
Married to her husband Leonard for 34 years, they have one daughter who recently married at the end of May 2021. Claudia was a member of the Board of The Alabaster Gift for close to a year and is an integral part of the transition to True North To Freedom. Her goal is to help people reach their full potential, overcoming the obstacles in their lives by providing opportunities and hope.

Cynthia is a married mother of 2 that retired from her career as a school Counselor. After meeting Heidi and the team at an event, she knew immediately this was a path that God had chosen for her to be on. Cynthia enjoys helping others to achieve their goals by working alongside of others.

Tom is a married father of two children. He is thankful for the opportunity to serve at True North To Freedom to do his small part in helping to improve the lives of human trafficking survivors and their families. Tom is motivated by survivors’ resilience and determination in the face of their overwhelming circumstances.
